Jurgen Klopp inspires weird, half-naked tribute in middle of Liverpool’s FA
09 January, 2016
Liverpool face Exeter City in the FA Cup third round on Friday night with 11 first-team players unavailable due to injury, six of those ruled out with hamstring problems.
Jordon Ibe also picked up a hamstring injury in training yesterday so he joins Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Jordan Henderson, Daniel Sturridge, Joe Gomez, Divock Origi, Jordan Rossiter and Danny Ings on the sidelines meaning Liverpool are without 12 first team players.
“We have to make decisions for the team and make changes”.
Jurgen Klopp has urged his Liverpool youngsters to be “more robust” after avoiding an FA Cup upset with a 2-2 draw at League Two side Exeter.
“The team which will play tomorrow will want to win this game for sure with 100 per cent of everything they have, but it will be a team that hasn’t played too often together. We know about our situation, but we have to react and that is what we try to do”.
“Now we have to think about it. Maybe versus Tottenham [on October 17 – Klopp’s first game in charge] it was more intensive than other games, but they are completely normal averages for running”.
If they do well they can quickly take the next step, but if not they have time.
But Grecians boss Paul Tisdale promises Liverpool will be meeting fearless opponents in front of the live television cameras.
“Our squad is big with all the young players and we have to use this quality now”. It’s been ten years since we lifted the FA Cup – too long for a club the size and prestige of Liverpool, but Klopp has a job on his hands if he wants to end that run.
That takes the total number of Liverpool players missing from action to an eye-watering 13.
In his interview for the Daily Mail Subotic said: “You go into a room and see people laughing and you know he is in the middle just being himself”.
Tiago Ilori, Kevin Stewart and Ryan Kent all made their debuts on Friday and, with Liverpool’s lengthy injury list, Klopp could be forced to call on his younger players again soon with Premier League clashes against Arsenal and Manchester United next up.
“Their second goal was something like a miracle that the ball was in and then in an atmosphere like this and with legs getting exhausted … we had a few more moments but not enough”. We’re really pleased, not just with anticipation for the game but also what it means for a club like Exeter City.
