HMV aims for clothes fit
Retailer HMV will start selling fashion lines in 40 or so of its UK largest stores in an effort to tap into the crossover between music and fashion. The likes of Lee Jeans and Boxfresh will be in all of the outlets, with the flagship store on London’s Oxford Street also carrying clothes by Rocawear, the label founded by US rapper Jay-Z.
“Music and fashion can be a perfect fit for HMV, not least because they overlap and influence each other so strongly these days,” HMV fashion manager Richard Stockwell told The Press Association. “Now our customers can check out and buy the latest street fashions at the same time they come in to make their music and entertainment purchases.”
