Facebook goes Gaga over the Lady
The first living person to rack up 10 million fans on Facebook is… Lady Gaga. The artist overtook Barack Obama as the most popular living person on FB on 25th June, according to Famecount. Right now, just five entities have more fans than Lady Gaga, including Michael Jackson, and Facebook itself.
The songstress remains the fastest growing star on the platform, having added 1.9 million fans last month alone, while currently garnering over 140,000 new ones every day.
“Achieving 10 million fans is a key milestone for both Lady Gaga, and for social media in general,” says Jamie Gavin from Famecount. “It is testament to the incredible reach of Facebook, and to the phenomenon of Lady Gaga.”
