Turbowolf travels Relentless

relentlessUnsigned British band Turbowolf has inked a sponsorship deal with Relentless Energy Drinks to fund a European tour with US rockers Korn.

The brand is supplying Turbowolf with a Relentless tour bus to use on the dates, and the band is making a short film about its on-the-road experiences which will be broadcast exclusively on the Relentless Energy Drinks website later this year.

Relentless has been involved with unsigned talent before, but this is the most support it has ever given to a new band. Turbowolf has played previously on Relentless festival stages.


Time to delight the audience

“The linear model does not work anymore,” Cohen said at the recent Music 4.5 goes practical event in London. “It is all about localisation. You have to know your marketplace and be prepared to monetise your audience rather than your content, to monetise the audience with your content… delight them with really great stuff.”

nprSo, what’s like being a female musician nowadays? Well, NPR surveyed some 700 musicas and found that a little over 60% of women managed to keep music as their full-time occupation.

Of the 37% who need day jobs, a good number managed to make money in music education or other kinds of teaching. And there are farmers, writers and gardeners in there too.


Bacardi puts rhythm into Pioneers

bacardiBacardi is delving deeper into the music development business in the UK, having tasked Norman Jay with supporting three music breakthrough acts this summer.

Artists Untold, Reso and Disco Bloodbath were mentored by the British DJ under the Bacardi Pioneers programme to create three new tracks. They got to travel to Puerto Rico to immerse themselves in a spot of brand heritage, before combining their beat-based music with the Latin American rhythms, working with local musicians, DJs and producers.


Good cause drives Choice music

choiceChoice Hotels International has rolled out Choice Hotels Music, a programme designed to give artists the opportunity to deliver music to consumers while boosting donations to non-profit organizations.

Choice will produce original music and offer it free to consumers for a limited time at ChoiceHotels.com. With each download, a financial donation will be made to a featured charity.

The music production company – spearheaded by celebrated composers and performers Nicolas Barry and Tomas Jacobi – have created emotive and entertaining scores for clients including Converse and T-Mobile. Their work can be heard on ads such as Toyota’s Autobiography campaign.
